Daniel Berman
Statement
The power of the pictorial gesture attracts Daniel Berman, materialized in the line, shape, and color. For Daniel, each painting contains and transmits the energy embodied in its execution, turning it into a communication vehicle on an energetic and emotional level. His work methodology is rooted in a pictorial rewriting exercise that moves between revelation and concealment, creation and destruction.
A patient view of Daniel's work will realize that what seems playful and almost childish reveals itself as a complex, dynamic, and expansive world, loaded with a powerful visceral characteristic of a savage and primitive state. In that sense, Daniel's painting is wild and somewhat psychedelic.
